The old Special Forces AN/GRC 109 radio is perfect for such a situation. It even comes with its own handcranked generator so it does not need a power source.

They won't work, Unk. This kind of impulse wipes out all the internal hardware. The chips are burnt out.

Any nation that did this to us would be wiped out the next day, I hope. You would have to be able to lift a warhead from overseas and have it high above the USA when it went off.

This is another example of a "security threat" that we will spend billions on, but is not realistic.
