Sure Hamas sends rockets over to Israel that terrorize the people but they do little physical damage. Meanwhile, Israel fires back and the death toll and destruction is significant. And the people are terrorized as well. I would have little to do with relatives or friends who fought at this level so why are we so committed to trying to stop the unstoppable?

Little damage because they don't yet have the ability to create more damage at this point.

Consider this: If Israel agrees to do a major peace agreement, I am sure some Palestinian faction will reject it....over time, this small group will get more powerful for that very reason.
That is what makes the two sides different...and a peace deal in this case is unworkable until the Palestinians are ready to reject the "martyr" mentality and the view that anything less than total defeat of Israel will not be acceptable. Israel knows this and it appears the world is starting to realize it. (it changed my view on this issue)

Palestinians now have so little worldwide support compared to 10-20 years ago. Terrorism is a problem in so many places that any offensive, indiscriminate attacks against innocent civilians is not acceptable any more. Every country that makes a statement against the Israeli action, is making it clear that the rocket attacks have to stop. If you read into it a little deeper, it is obvious they agree with the Israeli action in this case.
