OT: Most minivans are built on car frames. There is a large difference between car and truck frames, especially in the areas of weight carrying ability and towing capacity. I have put loads in my cargo van that would quite literally destroy your Windstar. The strength of the frame is the main reason why trucks are so heavy.

There is another subtle difference between trucks and minivans that is incredibly important to truck owners. The distance between the rear wheel wells on a truck framed vehicle is over 48 inches. Anyone who doesn't immediately know WHY this is important probably doesn't need a truck.

Trucks definitely have a place but I do agree that many people who own them don't actually need them on a regular basis. This is America and people are free to buy what they don't need.
