I'd expect him to be less supportive of Israeli thuggishness in his first term, and outright hostile toward it in his second.

I doubt he can do that while Hamas plays terrorist - if Hamas stops lobbing rockets - then yes - he could change position and pressure Israel, but not while naked terrorism is taking place by one side.
