Any analysis that purports to compare the economic competitiveness of oil vs alternatives has to include in the cost of oil, all of the externalities. So far on this thread, there has been a steadfast obstinacy regarding this point. Obstinacy and willfully ignoring true costs that contribute to oil's artificially low price to Americans is not a sound way to run our economy.
