I wish algae was here but it isn't.

Compare the amount of R&D money that has gone into solar and wind over the past 30 years and what has gone into algae. Algae is likely quite feasible, and would create a closed cycle CO2 scenario. It would also open up some tremendous opportunities for augmenting global food supplies, both animal and human.

MM wants to tell us that the oil industry has been subsidized, but he's conveniently disregarding the amount of capital that has gone into decades of development of those technologies. And it was until the advent of advanced thin film technologies where they can be mass produced have we found them approaching a comparison with fossil fuels.

It's just too bad they can't generate power 24 hours a day like nuclear, fossil, and hydro-electric. In that regard, neither solar or wind will EVER compare to those other sources for reliability and availability.

I hope the future that yourself and Mindmeld, invision doesn't include making our energy infrastructure less reliable and available..
