I suspect if anything the converse is true - if there is real development taking place they don't want to publish anything that could help competitors.

Given they have an approved drug, CVTX is way ahead here if any of this pans out - and I have to stress that that is a very big "if" at this stage. We need someone with a decent understanding of these sodium channels to tell us if the results described for ranolazine are even in the right ballpark to be potentially useful or not.
