The "proportionality of response" issue is totally bogus. When someone attacks your nation, you don't respond in kind. You blow them to F*cking smithereens. A "proportional response" would limit Israel to merely firing a rocket into a random area of Gaza to see what happens.

As John Bolton pointed out last night, if you put this in the context of Japan's attack at Pearl Harbor, did we have only the right to a "proportional response" which would have meant sinking some number of various watercraft with a maximum dead of 3,000 or whatever it was? That would be absurd.

Once you are attacked, you try to kill as many attackers as you can. Hopefully, avoiding civilian casualties, but understanding that killing THEIR civilians is better than them killing YOUR civilians. And you level the place if you have to.

One thing you have to say about Israel. They're in, inarguably, the most difficult to defend geographic posture of any nation in the world right now. And they do one hell of a great job of it given the circumstances.

They need to clear Hamas out. At all costs. Completely.
