SnP looking for 920+ end of next week and perhaps 1000/1050 sometime in the 1st Qtr.of 2009,then down to new lows later in the year.Interesting that the Nikkei had its weakest ever year-off 42% in 2008-and thats 18 years after it peaked at 39000+ in 1989!Just a warning shot of the future for some other markets perhaps?
Continue to like Gold($1500+ in 09),and will take a hard look at Oil if and when it trades to the $30 level. As most commodities have crashed and shortages are developing, these alternative China plays might be worth investing in on further weakness.
I will continue to avoid stocks until 2010/11 when I expect surviving blue chips to be yielding 6%+,be on a P/E of 6 to 10,have a strong balance sheet and be cash rich with a business and management that one understands and respects.AT that time the SnP might be trading around 550ish,marking the lows of this savage bear market.
Happy New Year to all on this Board, and trade well!
