Actually... it's *just paper* and they PRINT it.

(Not actually backed by anything. Hasn't been for decades.)

And, considering the HUGE HOLE were find ourselves in (hopefully... temporarily), and the fact that this GLOBAL PANIC has scared foreigners into buying our bonds when they are only yielding at record 40 year low yields --- we might as well sock-it-to-'em and sell all the bonds we can get away with while the getting is good.

'Cause... it won't last.

After the panic passes, if we can't get the economy advancing again, and move back toward balanced budgets like the Clinton years were... then at some point that window of opportunity to finance our endless deficits at these favorable terms will dry up.
