It's generous because it's what they asked for - give us our land, get your settlers off our land. It was a huge step in the right direction to a two state solution and Hamas did nothing in kind - they simply took over the tactical positions and freedom of movement to smuggle rockets in tunnels from egypt. Gazians had free movement via their port (until they started attacking Israel) and Egypt controls it's border with Gaza not Israel. Even Egypt stopped their movements to not look to be aiding in their continued terrorism of Israel.

Huge step towards peace? You saw the map that Chris posted. Do you think the Arabs are sitting around saying to each other: "You know, Hussain, in 1967, we supported the Syrians and the Egyptians in their war with Israel so we deserved to lose a large part of our land. You know, Amur, you have a point.......we should feel grateful that the Israelis allow us to live here at all and that they take our precious water.

Trust me, the only place such a conversation is taking place in Palestine is in an insane asylum.
