No it isn't conventional wisdom at all...It makes sense in the fact that the "Dollar is or becomes the "Reserve Currency" of the world. In otherwords the Dollar becomes the only way to buy anything and credit is thrown out the window.

I do think it would benefit consuming nations as prices would have to come down big-time. But then where does the US economy revert back to with no credit? Massive un-employment?

Either way I think 2009 is the watershed year and we find out whether inflation or deflation wins out. And IMO neither will be pretty....
