So yesterday morning I was sitting on my front stoop drinking my morning coffee and smoking one of my husband's cigarettes, when I saw one of my orange cats trotting from behind the house of the neighbor across the street, and as it came closer realized, at the same time, that my orange cat was sitting next to me, and that it was a really, really big cat.

In fact, it was a fox, and I felt lucky to have seen it.

So tonight I was sitting at my computer when I heard gruesome cries from the front yard. I threw open the bedroom window and yelled, and saw a dark cat running north and the fox running east. It was clear that the fox had been attacking the cat.

Taking a head count, all our cats were indoors, so it wasn't attacking one of ours.

Now I am wondering whether the fox is rabid.
