It is good to admit error but not easy. Nonetheless, a very good habit. I am embarrassed to say that when subprime first reared its ugly head, I thought it was manageable. The spin generated by Wall St. at first bamboozled me. It was not until I myself dispassionately looked at things on my own did I realize that the problems were indeed enormous. More important, I realized they presented opportunities. The problems we have now present opportunities, too. I feel I have an obligation to my family to make sure I take advantage of them in these difficult times for no one else, certainly not Uncle Sam nor the criminal class Madoff, Milken, Boesky, Enron, etc., represent, I think has my best interests in mind quite as intensely as I do.
