I suspect that Madoff was involved in many of the issues about which we write on this board, manipulative shorting, MM's that abuse the "exception" to the rule requiring trades to actually close and hedge fund hiding of scams.

His business was admittedly a scam and for anyone to think he ran his MM business in an altruistic way, as many defenders of the archaic MM system seem to think, is ludicrous.
