Yes, very true. However, if we'd displayed your skepticism back in the early days of oil discovery, we'd have never built all of this infrastructure to support an oil based economy, which has served it's purpose for decades now. However, all good things must come to an end and with the end of the old, there are new beginnings for those that can see past their own self-pity. All new paradigms seem difficult to imagine at first. That's why they are new. Lucky for us, America was built on people seeing problems and solving them rather than acting as you do...seeing problems and giving up. Even as we speak, innovative problem solvers are figuring out how to secure the necessary chemical supplies and technology to make the electrical vehicle future happen. Unfortunately, our Asian competitors are far ahead of us in time, energy, and monetary investments, which means they will reap most of the rewards unless we decide to compete.
