We lost one of our young female employees on Saturday the 27th with Hodgkins Lymphoma. She had been battling it for four years and she finally decided she would no longer take chemo or radiation and she had multiple blood transfusions the last few weeks of her life. She told us the thing she hated most about her disease was she did not want her parents to have to bury her.

We went to her funeral on Tuesday the 30th and she had arranged her funeral herself and the Rabi spoke all the words she wanted us to hear. Her Mother gave an eulogy which was just so beautiful about her. Before she lost consciousness she told her parents she did not want to be buried on Christmas Day if that was God's choice to take her. Her parents were with her all the way and she had good support from all the organizations she was involved with and friends in our office. We kept her on our payroll and insurance so she and her parents would have no medical concerns but at the end she said she just had no fight left in her and decided to let go. She was only 38 years old and had so much life yet to live. She had an individual laugh that we will all miss.

I HATE CANCER but know after having it, it will come back at some point in my life. That is something we all have to deal with and believe when it is your time, it is your time and you just have to accept it and deal with it. Our Cancer Group provides much support along with family support and that is so important when one has this horrible disease.
