1. We paid off what few debts we had.

2. Procured documents showing ownership of land/assets, and locked them away.

3. Got our spending even more under control.

4. I changed my investment strategy to be more defensive/conservative.

5. We have made plans for various unpleasant, but possible, personal, financial, and economic scenarios. This includes one or more of our banks/brokers suddenly closing their doors. It includes the currency collapsing. It includes a rapidly developing level of anarchy. It includes the population becoming even more brain dead than it is now (if that is possible).
