because EVERY SINGLE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP will will be going balls-to-the-wall to keep their perks.

They will with a "start from scratch plan" for taxes as well, trying to get their special break built in to the new tax code, and if that fails trying to get it added later, the same way most of them where added in the past.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposing the idea. It would probably help a bit. But its net effect would probably be temporary change at the margin.
