Yes, it's sad. Dick and I grew up together from about junior high. We were the best of friends, along with at least 6 or 8 other guys. The Korean War was going on as we were in high school and many of us decided to enlist after HS. About half the group did, the other half went on to college. Fortunate for those of us who enlisted, the war ended about the time we were graduating and none of us saw combat.
