They WANT a ground war. It's why they're still lobbing rockets. Surely YOU understand this Eric. On the ground, in their crowded cities, Hamas will be able to actually effectively strike at the Israeli soldiers! They have nothing to stop air attacks.

It's not a fair fight even then, but much closer to one that what they get NOW. They may change the odds fro the current 1 Israeli for every 300 Pals to 1 Israeli for every 20 Pals. An order of magnitude improvement! I'm sure Hamas would count it as a victory.

They're hoping to recapture what happened when Israel went into Lebanon on the ground. Israel LOST.
