Looks like Spansion is pursuing real NAND. They call it ORNAND2. It will have NAND cells arranged in NAND arrays, unlike ORNAND which had a NOR cell, and it will have much faster write performance. Real NAND is what they should have made to begin with.

Production starts sometime in 2009.
