I am sure the israelis have made improvements. I dont think hamas is anywhere as strongly positioned as hizbolla. I am not sure israel is going to attack gaza on the ground. There is a psych war aspect to all of this. But i guess if no one steps up and says they will run gaza or supply gaza with peacekeeping troops to prevent rocket attacks on israel, we will find out soon enough how strong hamas is and whether IDF is more prepared.
Pals arent stupid and you would think as angry as they are at Israel, there would be significant numbers of gazans who know in their heart that hamas started this with the rocket attacks. This is more clear than 06. In 06 there was a catalyst with the hizbolla attack on an israeli unit. Not a good thing but israel could have responded more proportinally. I dont think rockets were being fired regularly into israel before the war started. Here its thousands of rockets. I didnt pay much attention but in retrospect how did israel wait so long before responding in force to thousands of rockets?
