Yes, but the key to "success" with an IED is being able to hide it, and the larger they get, the harder they are to hide. In addition, the technology for interrogating IEDs has improved radically over the last few years.

Even EFPs have been largely ineffective against these new vehicles. I'm aware of one of these vehicles that recently took a direct hit with a very large IED. While the vehicle was damaged and had to have significant repairs, the personnel inside walked away without injury.

I doubt if the Iraq-styled IEDs will be used to much effect if there is an intensive ground war over there. If for no other reason, because the population density is so high and the human intelligence is significant.
