What difference would that make?

However, you are assuming lithium will be the preferred choice for batteries. That's possible, but there are other possibilities out there.

And are we self-sufficient in all the "other possibilities" out there? Should we forego investment in technologies that are based on lithium and other commodities that we aren't self-sufficient in?
