barge, re: you reference to Nolen Bushnel & '09 TPM/consumer applications ground swell -- first, if i missed any discussion of this here on IHUB previously, i'd appreciate anyone's effort who'd please direct me to such discussion.

i'm trying to get a handle on what Wave will lose when one of it's initial patents expires in 2010 (i.e., the patent initially established by Peter and subsequently "extended" in ~'93).

- is wave's embassy per-seat upgrade business tied to that patent in some way, such that a certain recurring revenue stream(s) generated as a function of the upgrades will no longer accrue to Wave?

- was it that patent that gave Wave the leverage to become the TCG leader it is, in return for Wave agreeing to accept a smaller slice of the RAND licensing pie?

- simply put, how pivotal is that patent to Wave's profitability?

thanks for any response.
