The major holding in the account I mentioned is GDX, bought on 23 Oct at $17.79, using capital from the sale of a leveraged bear fund. Even with this morning's hit, it is still up over 78%. Looking at the top headline in today's Wall Street Journal ("Obama Eyes $300 Billion Tax Cut") I don't see many alternatives to gold.
