Because you're selling the same kind of snake oil that he is, that's why.

You're telling us to ignore domestic fossil fuel exploration/production in favor of subsidizing electric car technology that based upon equally insecure sources of strategic components (Lithium).

Whereas, I'm suggesting more of a focus on NG conversion, which would naturally dovetail with creating the infrastructure for a future of fuel cell/plug-in hybrids (preferably using ultra-capacitors), with the hydrogen fuel produced via alternative power since it's not reliable for "baseload" 24x7x365 electricity service.

Btw, to call Pickens a "charlatan" is to admit that wind power is not all that it's cracked up to be.

I'd much rather have extensive Geothermal power, as it's renewable, pollution free, and reliable. The problem with it is that it's only widely available in a few select spots, predominantly in the Pacific NW and where other geothermal hot spots exist.
