Hello Ghassan, I agree with you also. Seems like the fear factor has set in terribly. It's funny that the night before Frankenburg's resignation, I had sent someone an email explaining how odd of a feeling I had since earnings were reported. I explained that I did not understand the lack of further comments from Novell regarding Q4, Green River release, Groupwise release, Meta group verification on 67% Netware by 2000, disappearing act by Novell employees on this board, etc. Felt like I was left hanging.

Not what I would have expected from a company with earnings basically in line. I further explained that Frankenburg was not that stupid and that something else must be going on.

Well I can't believe the board is stupid either. Why would a company hinging on disaster, insist that Frankenburg step down with no succesor chosen, or without at least having the choice narrowed to a couple of candidates. Everyone knows that Novell can't wait 3 to 6 months.

Seems like something caused the board to make this decision quickly, almost seemingly without thinking. Naw, couldn't be. It dosen't take a rocket scientist to figure out that that would likely cause mass panic. Too many other odd circumstances such as the stock buy back that Jean pointed out make this situation more unbelievable.

I remember quoting someone a while back..."Netscape + Novell > MSFT".

It's starting to make more and more sense to me. Something else MUST be going on.
