Pretty funny way to try to SPIN the simple and clear poll results:

LUMPING ALL THE "UNDECIDEDS" (those who have no expressed opinion) IN WITH THOSE WHO ARE PESSIMISTIC!

(Isn't a glass that's half full just as full as it is empty? <GGG>)

"Undecided" or "on the fence" means undecided, no expressed opinion but, hey... if you lumped the "undecideds" with the "OPTIMISTIC" you'd get an even larger percentage because there were *far more* optimistic respondents than pessimistic ones. :-)

So, Peter, if you want to spin it THE OTHER WAY, and you lump in the "undecideds" with the larger group of folks who said that they were OPTIMISTIC (than those who were pessimistic) you'd be able to report a 'very warm' (not a 'cool') result!

Hey... PRESTO: If you combine the 33% of respondents were optimistic with the 35% who were on-the-fence/uncertain, then you get an EVEN LARGER NUMBER, 68% who are "warm" to the President-elect as Commander-in-Chief... (then if you did what you are trying to do, which is equally wrong, and lump the 35% undecideds in with the smaller number of 25% who are pessimistic... which only totals 60%.)

BOTH are equally incorrect, however.

Because "on-the-fence" is on the fence, no matter how you (or I) might want to spin it. :-)

Still... a CLEAR 8% MORE expressed Optimism than expressed Pessimism. And that's no spin. <GGG>
