It is like lobbing a single mortar shell into an area. It makes people duck and cover, but any damage is pure luck.

This is a remark only an idiot would make.

First, when you're firing thousands into a relatively small, densely populated area, you're going to hurt some people eventually.

Secondly, while the physical damage may be limited, you seem to totally ignore the fundamental difference between terrorism and conventional war. In terrorism, you affect people by making them realize they are not ever secure, in effect creating FEAR.

Security is a basic need for a population. One which is walking around in constant fear has no more quality of life than one which is walking around hungry or without shelter or any of the other necessities of life.

You are constantly trying to minimize the damage Hamas and the Palestinians have done with thousands of rockets and mortars, and the position is devoid of rational thought.
