In the first part of your post, you say that there is no chance of peace between Muslims and us, the "infidel", and therefore, we have to seek them out and destroy them.
Meltedmind.. can you actually read the english language? I specifically STATED that I was referring to fundamentalist/militant Muslims publicly encouraging violent Jihad against the West, not all adherents to the Muslim faith.
Like any religion there are fundamentalists and moderates. Pakistan is a prime example of this right now. There are some very well educated and progressive Muslims in that country (and around the world). However, being moderates and relatively peaceful, they are being intimidated and silenced by violence perpetrated by the militants. Thus, we MUST motivate and assist those moderates in the Muslim to be willing to wage that religious war of "reformation" in order to advance toleration and basic human rights.
We must confront and defeat ANY radical muslim sect that threatens to attack our country. We must support moderate and progressive muslims so that they can find the courage to risk life and limb to confront the militants in their society.
Hell, you're a liberal, YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND how you would feel if some reactionary group threatened to kill you, or your family if you opposed or criticized their agenda!! I can't imagine you'd just sit back and permit this (on second thought, maybe I can.. ;0)
What you're seeming to allege is comparable to saying we can't wage war upon criminal gangs and mafia organizations because you'd believe it to be a war on legitimate entrepreneurial enterprise.
