Don't be fooled. Oil is terrorists main source of funding. As long as they have access to the hundreds of millions they get from so-called charities, we don't stand a chance at squashing them. However, if we can eliminate that source of funding and then they turn to drugs and other illicit forms of funding, then at least we have established ways of handling those efforts. We still have mafia and drug-lord problems in the US, but we've managed to keep that down to a low enough level of a problem, that it doesn't detract from the functioning of our economy.

Oil and terrorism have become foundational to too many of our problems to continue down the same path as before of ignoring the high and hidden price we're paying for oil.
