We have wild animals too who come down from the hills looking for food and water, particularly in the summertime. Cougars are frequently found. We have had several racoon families over the years here...although luckily none now that we are aware of. With the little Papillons, we would really have a tough time guarding them, especially the little female rescue (Pixie)....We thought Caesar was a Type A, until she came to us....She disabused us of that notion right away, and Caesar got the message too. She would sass the racoon, no doubt, and he/she would get tired of that, and would carry her off. We couldn't stand that!
Had a funny thing happen with those two tonight. Hubby brought home a new bag of chewies/look like bones, that are supposed to be great for their teeth. Each one got a half. Both were quite intent chewing and eating, then Pixie left hers for a few minutes, and sneeky little Caesar saw where it was...went to get it, and WOW...when she realized what happened, she just had a hissy fit....He tried to look innocent, but silly fellow, it was right underneath him, and she saw it.
She does this to him all the time, but this time, he had learned her game. She just wasn't amused!
They are really funny to watch...
