FWIW Actually a friend has a friend in IDF and was told that Hamas encouraged civilians to go to the UN school as a safe spot and then deliberately lured israelis into combat, knowing the result. It was a setup using gazan innocents for PR purposes. I have no proof and this is second hand info but it comes from someone who is reliable, more sympathetic to the Pals and firmly believes this account.
