OK, I understand what you're saying. Irresponsible, yes. Deep, prolonged recession, yes. Depression, maybe - we're talking degrees of "bad".

But by late '08, that would have come no matter what - so they chose to reflate, and push the crash to later, slow it down.

They must have a Plan "B" - to jack up interest rates, reduce money supply? Not defending them! Just trying to figure out what they thought the next step would be, when inevitable inflationary effects start to happen.

Crazy as things are, hard to believe they didn't think past Q4 2008. Say it ain't so, Vi.
