Attorneys get a bad rap, but it's at least partially deserved. When Madoff's attorney said this morning that Madoff "made an innocent mistake" sending over a million dollars of jewelry to family members, he pretty much justified the feeling among people that attorneys are bald faced liars. It WAS a mistake all right but it clearly wasn't innocent. If Madoff did something this stupid it makes one wonder how intelligent the people he suckered are.
