You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs.

And --- in Washington, which is really one big 'pissing contest' --- you can't assert yourself, or advance your agenda *without* throwing some sharp elbows every once in a while... (and often some of the most important ones are thrown to your own Party).

So... I don't necessarily see that 'stepping on Feinstein's toes' a little bit is really all that much of a "mistake"! :-)

Sometimes the big dog just has to 'bark' a bit to get the pack in line.... <g>
