Well... I'm off! From posting... among other things... <Hoo><Hoo>

Moreover I have decided to attend the 5,684th International Conference of Cynics, Critics and Pessimists at the Mumbai Mayfair Hotel.

Ordinarily I don't go in for these group hug things but this year's agenda is truly a unique event. The Call For Papers indicates historic levels of interest in actually resolving some of the oldest quandaries known to man. The list is too long to cut and paste here but the forum that's getting the most ink seems to be this one:

The Celestial Choir:
10.1 Do the members need Lipstick and can its Silk Purse really carry a tune?

10.2 Origin and market applications: Artistic, Economic, Social or Political?

10.3 Will High Costs produce decibels high enough to be heard over the herd?

10.4 Operating efficiencies: When the music starts does the crime actually stop... or just skip a beat?

10.5 Design For Manufacturing: Can you take TC^2 on the road through high impact, filthy market environments and replicate both lawful and joyful noise right out of the box every time?

10.6 Cyclic Redundancy Checks: What's the MTBF for TC^2 Directors? Can they be replaced in the field? What are the error modes? What happens to performance if the Director fails unexpectedly?

I know... it's not much. But whatthehey... it beats sitting around here watching the salesmen sell themselves.
