The people trying to put creationism in our schools are pretty much 100% right wing Republicas. Look at the Republican and Democratic platforms. Look at what and the Republican's have done regarding education and science policy the last 30 years. They tried to replace the public school system with vouchers. You know where many conservative's will send their childrne with vouchers. Christian schools (oxymoron ng). 1) Republican's discourage family planning, are pro life, like the DARE program (doesn't work), no sex education, no stem cell research, do not generally believe in evolution or global warming, etc. Liberals hold the opposite postions. And most conservative Republcians do not believe in evolution by a wide margin (there are no liberals left in the Republican party); and most of the liberals in the Democratic party do believe in evolution. This holds true for gay rights as well. Republican's believe it is a choice and liberals know one is born gay. Science. It is true the conservative and uneducated democrats are more in tune with the cultural values of Republicans, but they do not control the Democratic party or the platform. Conservatives control the Republican party and the liberals control the Democratic party. From Reagan to bush the Republican party has been anti intellectual. The scientific community the last eight years has been livid the way the bush administration has treated scientists. Even rewriting their research and doing away with many very needed scientific programs. Oneo fthe heads had to quit the day after it was exposed he had rewritten a global warming report. My son in law is an atmospheric scientist and he tells me the scientific community has been setting their hair on fire because of what the Republicans have been doing tothe scientific community. The Republicans have set us back many years while the rest of the world is shooting past us. E.G. Tom Delay called the environmental protection agency a Gestopo orgainization and when the Republicans held the Senate they put senator Inhoff of Oaklahoma as chairman of the Environmental committe. Inhoff called global warming the biggest fraud ever perpretrated on the American people.
