There is a basis in thought that is underwritten by assumption. Assumption is founded upon what you believe to be sensible. Beliefs are then confirmed or rejected by thoughtful consideration of evidence. When someone does not give thoughtful consideration to the beliefs that underly their world view, it is probably because they are afraid of how changing or modifying their world view would effect them. Believing is an issue that you regularly deny. Deny them or not, they exist, you have beliefs and your thoughts spring from those beliefs.
