BRUSSELS, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Russia's Gazprom (GAZP.MM) did not agree with a European Union proposal to send monitors to check the flow of gas from Russia via Ukraine aimed at restoring supply to the EU, the Czech EU presidency said on Thursday.

Czech Minister of Commerce Martin Riman said Ukrainian officials agreed to the plan, but "unfortunately I have to tell you that Gazprom representatives refused this proposal". (Writing by Darren Ennis, editing by Dale Hudson)
