No I have not purchased Joel's book yet, may borrow it from our library. I saw this book in the isle of my favorite bookstore and found it worthwhile to look into.

I do think the idea to look into spinoffs and emerging bankruptcy worthwhile but like so many other things it has not been working well recently. The main reason for this is that many spinoff are loaded with too much debt for this unforgiving credit market. this might work again the credit eases and the economy improves. I also expect many bankruptcies to happen so looking at emerging plays may work well a few years down the road.

Regarding PCP I think it is a good company. This is based on it's LT track record and information I gathered from analyst report. They do have a moat due to their unique manufacturing capabilities. Of course manufacturing is slowing (to say it mildly) and being a big supplier to Boeing does not help either currently.
