Sam, a few days after the Barron's article that you posted, the news about Satyam broke. My point is that even though Barron did not make any mention of Satyam or even about the "cooking of books" that Satyam did, Satyam's actions is a type of risk that Barron's is talking about benignly.

I am not sure if you noticed or not that during the G20 summit in Dec., the Indian PM was complaining about India's growth falling from something like 12% per year to 9% per year in 2009!! I thought he should be happy that India is projecting a growth, however small, in 2009.
