In the end I know that I can't change all minds but maybe a few and I can leave it at that. Before 1960 nobody believed in continental drift! Edit: (some did but it was not conclusively proven) What I find entertaining is talking to people who think solar energy won't work and then I take them to one of my homes that runs almost exclusively on solar. A good friend of mine who poo pooed it for years finally became a convert and brags to his friends that it can be done. Sure some of it is expensive but the costs are dropping quickly and he really likes the fact that I'm totally independent. To me the best thing is having my own electricity that it is totally reliable 24/7/365 and at the same time there is no pollution generated.

A few years ago I drove down to LA from Seattle to visit a very good friend in Duarte. My god the view from the top of the Grapevine was telling. The smog was so bad! Anyway by the time I drove to the bottom my asthma was acting up. I could not live there for any length of time, ever. Sadly pollution levels are rising here in the Puget Sound area and that is affecting my asthma after years of remission. The only way we will get off this stuff is when the EROI becomes excessive.
