GMA ramps up gold, silver output sharecast.com Algeria-focused precious metal miner GMA increased gold and silver production in the last quarter of 2008 and said output would increase to ‘commercial levels’ in coming months. Its Amesmessa mine produced 1,205 ounces of gold in October, 1,550 in November and 2,537 in December. Silver production in the respective months was 233 ounces, 293 ounces and 465 ounces. “The production results at Amesmessa are ramping up as a result of explosives deliveries,” chief executive Douglas Perkins said. “We expect this to continue in 2009.”
