It is great to see Bush actually defending the Federal response to Katrina for a change. The response on the part of the federal government was excellent in many respects, but at the time he refused to defend it which has allowed the early history of the event to become corrupted by liberal journalists and "historians". In his press conference he pointed out the amazing response by the Coast Guard, where they picked some 30,000 persons off of rooftops within the few days following the flood. It is about time. Now if only some of the so-called journalists and "historians" will look honestly at it.
