Bill c. 35,000 installed as of 8/97... see cabledatacomnews.com

>>>Would you have any URL's indicating more than 50,000 installed today?<<<

Remember, I'm long WSTL and believe ADSL is a superior technology, but cable modems are being installed while the tellcos dither. My ISP (Prolog)has offered cable delivery for months and my rinky-dink Cable Co (Verto) is in the middle of an upgrade that will allow it to offer broadband service in the 1Q 1998. I'm on their e-mail list for first offering... and this is happening NOW, in my little town in Northeast PA. xDSL?????? Like most people, if cable works, why bother to switch to xDSL? Every cable modem sold is likely one less xDSL modem sale. Seamans himself said something to the effect that he hopes the cable threat will light a fire under the tellcos.

Regards.
