I bet that all of the bank robberies that have been committed in the US in 200 years don't add up to the amount of money Madoff stole.

I realize that the guy didn't outright kill anyone, but I think we should be treating him a bit more like a person who has ruined the lives of thousands of people rather than a garden variety white collar crim.
