Taxes are going to go up no matter what.

Not only do we have to fund entitlements, we also have to start paying down this massive National Debt that may reach $15 Trillion by the time we get out of this economic collapse.

I give Obama credit for saying we have to address the deficiencies in Soc. Sec. and Medicare, but he's probably going to only ask for incremental changes as they have in the past.

The elderly population is GROWING, not shrinking, and entitlement costs will keep rising. No politician that ever wants to get elected again is going risk ticking off such a large voter base.
